Happy spring! It’s finally actually looking like spring where I live, the grass is becoming green and the snow is finally all gone.

This month’s pick is In Love’s Time by Kate Breslin. I typically don’t read WW1 novels, but this one captured my interest right away. When I say I couldn’t put this book down, I legitimately could not. It kept me captivated from start to end, a captivating mix of frustration and excitement.

Captain Marcus Weatherford is torn when he must accept a mission that causes him to have an undercover fiancée. Travelling into the heart of Russia, he has strict instructions to find the Romanov Tsarina and uncover critical information about a plot to assassinate Lenin. While in Russia, his heart remains at home with the woman he loves, Clare Danner, a hospital orderly, whom he left reeling from his betrayal. Although utterly heartbroken, what Clare fears the most is losing her daughter to the heartless people who had already stolen her once before. The only person that can help her is Marcus, who has the power to testify against them. But when plans in Russia go awry, Marcus is left injured and unable to help the woman he truly loves, and the mission for the country he fights to protect.

This book was a nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat, forcing yourself not to peek at the ending kind of read. Never have I read a book that had such a major plot twist that I never even saw coming. Kate Breslin did an incredible job balancing many different perspectives and molding them into one incredible story of trust, espionage, betrayal, and suspense!

My rating was 8/10, once again, I would definitely recommend!
